Hours  37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.30pm and other such additional time as may be necessary for proper perfomance of the role.
Engagement Period  March-June (four months full time)

Soccer Aid for Unicef

The brainwave of Unicef UK ambassador Robbie Williams and Triple S, Soccer Aid for Unicef brings together two teams of celebrities and football legends from England and the World XI for the biggest charity celebrity football match in the World. The event started in 2006 and since then has raised more than £38million to help Unicef UK Defend Play for Every Child. Last year’s game was staged at Stamford Bridge, the iconic home of Chelsea FC in front of a sell-out crowd of 40,000 and on primetime free to air ITV 1.

Soccer Aid Productions Limited (SAP) is responsible for delivering Soccer Aid for Unicef and raising substantial funds from both a commercial and fundraising perspective for Unicef UK. SAP’s ambition is to grow Soccer Aid and the Soccer Aid World XI brand in the UK and internationally to increase revenue and deliver change for children worldwide. SAP work closely with the best in class partners, namely; Initial as Producers of the live TV event and ITV as broadcasters of the prime-time television show.

Position in the organisation 

Purpose and Responsibilities of Entertainment PR Manager


  • Report into the SAP Head of Communications for Soccer Aid Productions
  • Responsible for all non-football talent announcements in 2020
  • Identify ‘sweet spot’ areas where non-football and football announcements can be used in conjunction and creatively
  • Contribute significantly to PR plan, social media strategy and media releases
  • Have excellent network of news & showbiz media contacts, build a database of interested parties that will support the entire PR campaign
  • Work to establish realtionships with influencers and social publishers to activate media time with talent and commercial partners
  • Place entertainment talent on mainstream media during the campaign and specifically in the build-up to the event, management of media day at Cobham training ground, media relations across the weekend of the match at Manchester United
  • Liaison with internal and external stakeholders across several organisations
  • Help SAP achieve business objectives including selling tickets, maintain brand awareness, drive viewers to the programme, fundraising, activate sponsorship contracts and ensuring the talent are professionally managed in terms of PR
  • Use media monitoring tools to collate coverage across the campaign
  • Assist where appropriate with the servicing of commercial partners’ requirements, especially where mainstream media coverage is required
  • Contribute to social media strategy and to the overarching creative strategy
  • Liaison with ITV and UUK regarding talent and fundraising matters, respectively


Person Specification

  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
  • Senior experience working in PR with entertainment, news or showbiz focus
  • Possess experience of crisis communications
  • High level of confidence in dealing with national media stories
  • Demonstrate examples of effective PR campaigns you have devised and delivered
  • Strong showbiz media contacts – traditional, online, social and digital
  • Must be a strong forward planner
  • Think creatively to solve problems and respond to a quick changing PR plan
  • Experience working with high profile individuals
  • Suitable educational qualifications
